Tenet
? To exhibit the eco concept and human culture of design industry, promote the traditional folk designs to syncretize with international fashions so as to boom the design innovation and design market.
? To display the trends of furnishings art design popular internationally and domestically so as to improve the design of furnishings art and promote the development in the industry of furnishings art design.
? To show the close relation between art and living, promote the “Artist Living” and the “Art for living,” so as to facilitate the transform of living style and further improve the living quality.

Significance
? Guided by the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new situation when Beijing Olympics will be successfully launched, China’s industries of interior design, interior decoration and furnishings art saw a consensus to widen the exchanges between China and the world and make overall upgrading.
? To display the great achievements obtained in China’s industries of interior design, interior decoration and furnishings art during the period of reform and opening-up on the occasion of 30th anniversary since China adopted the policy of reform and opening to the outside world and of 20th anniversary since China National Interior Decoration Association (CNIDA) was founded.
? The grand activities that are most authoritative and of greatest influence in China’s industry of interior design and decoration in 2008 will offer an ideal opportunity to decoration enterprises, design companies and designers for displaying their achievements and design styles to lead the trend of consumption in design and decoration products.

 
Participation Notice
The 7th China International Biennale of Interior Design 2008

 1. Design Type
(1) Board exhibition in hall.
Designers and design companies who applied for exhibition can, after passing the preliminary qualification examination, directly display their works and achievements in the Hall.
     (2) Network exhibition (design works can be displayed at specific websites for free).
Design works, if determined to be an entry, can be displayed at the specific websites on the voluntary basis, and can be displayed in the exhibition hall according to the given process after it is deemed to be qualified for board exhibition. The design works bearing the palm can continue to be displayed at the websites after the conclusion of the board exhibition.（website：http://cida.china-designer.com）
(3) Video exhibition in network.
Excellent design works in the exhibition will be made by China Unicom into video plays and propagandize in the network.  (website: www.cvnet.com.cn）
 2. Contents
(1) Design works of individual designers. Designer can exhibit their works on the given boards;
(2) Achievements of a design company. Design companies can display their achievements and brands through the exhibition period.
3. Entry Scope
(1) Specimen or originality of interior design for public buildings;
(2). Specimen or originality of interior design for dwelling houses;
(3). Specimen or originality of design for commercial clubhouse;
(4). Originality of interior design from undergraduates.
Note: ① The scope covers the overall design or functional design for newly-built or transformed projects, there is no limit to the space function.
② “Specimen” shall refer to the complete project while “originality” to design scheme to be put in application.
4. Requirements
(1) Design Works: (A) Perspective views or photos and plan shall be included, and sectional elevations and node views can be attached. (B) The exhibition board is in 900mm×1200mm (longitudinally hung). The description for design intention shall be no more than 200 bold Chinese characters (smaller than 3# character); the board surface, besides standardized characters or words, shall reserve a space at the top to be marked with the characters of “The 7th China International Biennale of Interior Design (which will be accomplished by the organizers). Designers can select three colors of black, white or grey as the background of the board. The title and words for description can be positioned freely, while the Conner Table shall be 60mm×160mm, positioned at right lower conner, the information for the Conner Table shall be provided as requested (see Annex (1) “Specification & Style of Exhibition Board” for details). (C) All design works shall be filed in CD with extension of jpg by the designer, the resolution of the CD works shall not be less than 300 dpi (this Committee shall be entitled to have copyright of the design works).
(2) Design works can rent an exhibition space for designing and building its own exhibition area in accordance with relevant exhibition provisions, the works applied for “interior design works contest” can be displayed in the exhibition space; however, the design company shall make a CD for its works as required and handle the formalities for application.
5. Conditions
(1) Professionals or units engaging in interior design, environmental art design and design for vehicles, ships or aircrafts as well as the undergraduates in above specialties of universities or colleges can take part in the exhibition.[works designed by a collective shall be stated the chief designer(s)].
(2) Famous design companies in China and the world that has been operated for more than 6 years and awarded with the internationally recognized prize for once or national prizes for decoration or design (grade I) for twice or more, or awarded with prizes by the authoritative administrations in China can participate in this exhibition.
6. Exhibition Access
(1) Units or individuals who intends to display the works in the hall can send the Application Form of the 7th China International Biennale of Interior Design (see Annex 2) and CD works[manufactured according to the Requirements and Annex (1)] directly or via the local associations of interior design or relevant institutes to the office of this Committee, the office of this Committee or the relevant institute, after carefully examination, will give the designer a notice to ask him pay the fee if his works is deemed to be qualified for exhibition, The application, delivery of CD works and payment for fee shall not be later than October 31, 2008.
(2) Units or individuals who intends to participate in the network exhibition can register and upload the works for free at the specified websites (see details at the specified websites). The works deemed to be qualified in the preliminary examination can be displayed in the exhibition hall upon the receipt of the notice from the office of this Committee. Provided the designer desires to display his/her works in the Hall, he/she can make a CD works as required and mail the CD works, Application Form  and exhibiting fees directly or via the local association of interior design or relevant institutes to the office of this Committee before the above deadline.
(3) The exhibition board will be manufactured by the office of this Committee in accordance with the CD works provided by the designer and the works for network exhibition shall be accomplished by the designer himself/herself
7. Award Standard
(1)The awards include gold, silver and bronze medals as well as medal for excellent works; all entries displayed in the exhibition hall will be assessed by the board of review consisting of specialists invited by this Committee.
(2) The award ceremony will be officially hold during the biennale to award the medals and certificates to the designer of excellent works, the designer who is awarded the gold medal will also receive other prize worthy of RMB 5,000.
(3) Designers who is awarded gold or silver medal, comparing with other assessment results, can obtain the certificate of “Senior Interior Designer” or “Interior Designer” without examination.
8. Relevant Activities
(1) The 1st China International Furnishings Art Exhibition will be hold currently.
(2) The China Interior Design Forum 2008 and Cocktail Party for 20th Anniversary of CNIDA and Award Dinner of China International Biennale of Interior Design will be hold at the same time.
(3) The Collected Excellent Design Works in the 7th China Interior Design Biennale will be compiled and printed.
(4) The network exhibition for design works bearing the palm in the 7th China Interior Design Biennale will be hold;
(5) The tour exhibition for design works bearing the palm in the 7th China Interior Design Biennale will be hold; and
9. Fees
(1). The exhibition board for domestic works is RMB 800 each (cost included) and the board for foreign works is RMB 2,000 (cost included)
(2) For members of China Interior Design Association, the board fee is RMB 60o each and the undergraduate designers will enjoy a half discount;
(3) Standard exhibition booth for native clients: 15,000 Yuan/booth (in Preface Hall) and 10,000 Yuan/booth (in 2# Hall), Space only 1,500 Yuan/m2 in Preface Hall and 1,000 Yuan/m2 in 2# Hall.
(4) Standard booth for international clients: RMB 18,000 Yuan/booth; space only: RMB 1,800 Yuan/m2.

Historical Data
Great breakthrough was seen in the 6th China International Biennale of Interior Design in 2006, in which, more than 300 design companies participated, more than 1,300 design works were displayed on 1,500 exhibition boards and the visitors were up to 16,000.
302 exhibitors displayed their works on an area of 15,000 m2 in 2007, and the participators reached 19,000, including designers, top-grade clients, purchasers from starred hotels, owners from high-grade villas and other end users.
It is expected in 2008 the purchasers of starred hotel and owners of high-grade villas will be more than 8,000.
Highlights
1. High artistic quality. As the highest grade of art display and decoration exhibition in China, it offers exquisite artistic products such as famous brands, new products and designs, and guides the development of indoor furnishings art with new concepts. It is a new platform of designs, decorations  and artistic wares, promoting communication and interaction between artistic institutes and enterprises specializing in artistic products both at home and abroad.
2. Large trade volume and flexible operation. Top designers will be present for creating long-term purchase-supply relation, purchasers of starred hotels, owners of villas, private clubs and collectors will be invited, what’s more, the date on which the exhibition is to be held is in the peak season for decoration, therefore, owners with intention of decoration will participate in this exhibition to select their favorite products. It is a good opportunity for exhibitors to take up the market of exquisite artistic products.
3. Large scale. Other events such as the 7th China International Biennale of Interior Design, China International Forum on Interior Design, and Cocktail Party for 20th Anniversary of CIDA and Award Dinner of China International Biennale of Interior Design, etc. will bring more business opportunities.

Fees:
1. Exhibition space for domestic clients only:
Standard booth: RMB 12,000 each in No.1 Hall and RMB 10,000 in No. 2 Hall
Space only: RMB1,200/m2 in No. 1 Hall and RMB1000/m2 in No. 2 Hall.
2. Exhibition space for international clients:
Standard booth: RMB1,8000 each
Space only: RMB1800/m2 

Formalities:
1. Applications for exhibition are accepted now. Exhibitors may write to or call the local branches for exhibition requirements, ask from the committee for or download through the official website the Exhibition Acknowledgement (i.e. exhibition contract), and fax it back to the Committee office after carefully filling in and sealed.
2. The Committee, upon the receipt of the Exhibition Acknowledgement, makes a confirmation and official seal and faxes it back to the exhibitor.
3. The Exhibitor shall, within five (5) days after signing the Acknowledgement, remit the exhibition fee to the account specified by the Committee (see Acknowledgement for details).
4. The Exhibitor shall, within one month prior to the exhibition, provide the information on power, gas or water consumptions to the Committee office so that the latter have sufficient time to prepare for them; the fees arising from or relating to above matter shall be born by the exhibitor.
